Waterproof mortar has been widely used in home decoration, but there are certain problems in the selection and use of waterproof mortar in home decoration.

1. Definition of home waterproofing

Home waterproofing refers to the leakage and seepage prevention of bathrooms, kitchens, pools, balconies and indoor roofs where water is used or rainwater is received. (2) The original waterproof layer (kitchen and bathroom) may be damaged during secondary decoration.

The current decoration has made great changes to the water and electricity, and the chiseling process will destroy the original waterproof layer.

(3) Cracks appear after long-term use of the building

After long-term use, buildings are prone to various cracks and deformations, leading to the destruction of the waterproof layer.

(1) Types of household waterproofing

The waterproof materials currently sold on the market are mainly coating-type waterproof materials, which are divided into flexible and rigid waterproof materials. Flexible waterproof materials mainly include two-component polymer waterproof coatings, polyurethane waterproof coatings, and acrylic waterproof coatings. Rigid waterproofing mainly includes polymer cement waterproof mortar and two-component waterproof mortar, that is, the ratio of emulsion to mortar is 1:4. Its characteristics are not detailed.

(2) Requirements for waterproof materials

---Environmental friendly. It is the first requirement for selecting materials for home decoration today.

--Multifunction. Modern household waterproof materials have many uses: waterproof, mildew-proof, anti-corrosion and so on.

---Convenient construction. Since most waterproofing is entrusted to decoration companies, the construction must be simple and convenient.
